Yaser Bayat is a composer and professional musician of various instruments from Iran, such as Setar, Santur, Baglama, Kamancheh, Tonbak, Daf, Darbuka, Cajon, and Dayre. He also plays piano and guitar at an intermediate level.
He became interested in music as a child and continued to play music with famous and distinguished Iranian masters. In 2006, he went to the University of Tehran and completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees with excellent grades. He ranked second in the entrance exam. After graduating, he taught and conducted research at the University of Tehran. He also worked as a music director at two music schools in Tehran.
Theatre & Movie: He composed music for more than 60 professional theatre and movies. For example, he composed music for the film “Hamgonah” and the album “Mast Hoshiar.”
Concerts: Mr. Bayat has played in hundreds of concerts with different bands, including Shahnazi and Chehel Daf, in Iran and other countries such as Poland, Armenia, Italy, Qatar, Turkey, and Germany. With his band “Zarb AWA,” he mainly performed in Iran and Indonesia.
Publications: Yaser Bayat has published several scientific articles, such as “Kamanche Lorestan, Turkman, Theater Music,” and two books: “Darband,” “Tonbak and Chasme Khoroshan Rhythm.” He has made numerous appearances on television and radio.
Memberships: As an active member, he works as a composer at “Theater Haus” and “Musik Haus” in Iran.
Yaser Bayat has been living in Berlin since 2021. He has been working as a music teacher at the Global Music School since September 2022. With the founding of the music group “Iran Ava,” Yaser Bayat aims not only to present Iranian musical instruments but also to initiate a musical dialogue between Iranian and international instruments.
